How to make a Friday awesome

Today in St. Louis, it was rainy and gross. Thankfully, after a nap, my congestion and headache are gone. As an added benefit, I received this email from the National Science Teachers Association:

Dear A,

Welcome to the New Science Teacher Academy.

We are pleased you could join us!

Sincerely,

Paul J. Tingler
Project Director
New Science Teacher Academy

Attached to the email was the confirmation document that had it in black in white that I am one of the 2008 Amgen NSTA Fellows. This is SUPER exciting news and huge honor/opportunity for me. Not only will I have an expert mentor and lots of opportunity to improve my pedagogical knowledge throughout the year, but I am guaranteed the following:

Accommodations, coverage of airfare, food, and registration fees to attend the NSTA national conference

More details on the program are found here. This is totally giving me some extra energy to get back to finishing our school schedule (ugh).
